GotoOne will not be a part of Team BDS next year
Head Coach GotoOne will part ways with Team BDS for next year, sources tell Sheep Esports on Wednesday.
The Swiss organization has now entered the market and is prepared to engage in discussions with potential new coaches. This decision to part ways has arrived late in the offseason, and at this moment, GotoOne has not yet found a new team to call home.
To Worlds with BDS
Two years ago, GotoOne embarked on his journey with Team BDS, starting in the academy squad. In his debut year, the French coach achieved remarkable success with Team BDS Academy, guiding the organization to both LFL finals.
During the summer of 2022, BDS Academy also advanced to the EU Masters finals, only to narrowly lose to Team Heretics with a score of 2-3. The sole critique of this roster at the time was their inability to secure titles when it truly counted.
Nonetheless, after a strong year, GotoOne earned a promotion to the Team BDS LEC Team. Once again, Team BDS found themselves in a final, this time during the LEC Spring Split. However, they faced a challenge in MAD Lions and fell short with a score of 2-3.
In a final twist, Team BDS clinched a spot at the Worlds by defeating the Golden Guardians, earning the coveted fourth European spot. Through a rollercoaster of ups and downs, BDS managed to secure a place in the Worlds 2023 Main Stage and ultimately finished in the 15-16th place bracket.
GotoOne shared the news about him exploring options on Twitter earlier today. Sources claim to Sheep Esports that the reason for that is because him and the organization are parting ways.
It remains to be seen what Team BDS does next but they're likely keeping several players for next year.
